Has anyone seen the movie "Jesus Camp"? It's quite scary. An all around unattractive(physically and spiritually) evangelical pastor holds a week long seminar titled "Preparing for Jonestown". There are pre-teen children who were reborn at five. There is a cardboard cut out of W brought on stage and prayed to, (which everyone who has watched Kirk and Ray know is worship of a false idol. Oddly, that observation floats angelically over the heads of the fanatics in training and their indoctrinators). Finally, the iminent danger of the warlock Harry Potter is expressed vehemently by the hideous Becky Fisher, Brainwasher in Chief.
I have a question. If you are filled with hate and intolerance, should you be allowed to use your children as pawns in your assinine pursuit of make believe? If you like documentaries you have seen the little children with hoods and white robes. You have seen the eight year olds with tape over their mouths at Anti-choice rallies. It seems to me to be child abuse. Indoctrination is not education. Most of these little religious brown shirts are home schooled then go on to some "Christian University".(little oxymoronish, don't ya think?) They are never exposed to anything different. From the time they are born they have no free will. None.
Now I know an arguement can be made that no one has free will because your parents influence who you are as a person. I understand, we are molded. Yet, most children are able to meet others with varied beliefs and opinions, in school and in life. Their individual beliefs then become an aggregate of different influences. Maybe they will still believe as they grow, maybe they will believe in something else, maybe they will shun religion all together. It's good to be curious, it's noble to question, and it's OK to think for yourself. OF COURSE that last sentence goes against the fundamental rule of almost every religion, but we are talking about the evangelicons here and now.
Not only are these hard core abusers shoving dogma down their children's throats, they don't allow their zeal-seed to encounter anyone who might propose a different line of thinking. As I said, the children are home schooled, next a "christian college", then into the REAL world. Once there, they presume to be better than anyone who doesn't believe in their particular brand of fantasy and close ranks, only wanting to surround themselves with like minded beings. It's safer there, it's all they know. They go to their mega churches, have their judgements, intolerances, and make believe reinforced. Perpetual ignorance, the most important tool needed to maintain a glass house.

So does anyone believe any of the verbal defacation that GW and his assholes are spewing?(No pun intended) Between signing statements and just plain ignoring constitutional law there isn't anything these guys won't do. It's pretty sad that your president is a mental midget and is obviously completely controlled by Cheney. History will judge, but who remembers the VP? People will remember W. He either is too stupid to care about how history will judge him or he is complicit in the dismantling of our government. Either way, he is a compelling arguement for abortion.
So I got my usual Bush rant out of the way. Now I'd like to talk about the fairness doctrine. It is supposed to make sure that any ideals, be it conservative or liberal, have access to the public airways. Equally. WE own the frequency that all radio or television signals go out on. They are all public. Yet radio has a bias of 10 righties to one lefty. Seems fair. That must be why Reagan got rid of it. It was too fair. What can you do though. He was senile during most of his presidency. I love that the Bush right is so in love with a sponge brained, corporate, B-movie actor. Which reminds me...
How come the right is so eager to label any actor who disagrees with them as a Hollywood liberal, yet they idolize Bonzo's minion and celebrate another crap actor as their savior in 2008? As far as I know there are no actors running as a democrat. Just another example of the hypocrisy of the right. Some how republics can call a big government, big spending, imperialist, a solid party member. Before Ronnie the incompetent, they would have called anyone like that a Democrat...and went after him like a black voter in Florida.
Rights? You don't need no stinking rights,

Jeff Porcaro was the drummer for Toto. He came from a musical family, Joe Porcaro, his father, was an in demand session percussionist. His brother Steve played keyboard and sang in the original line up of Toto.
Jeff was a very innovative drummer, although he was not my favorite. John Bonham was. I actually bought Jeff's design, a rack system, and played it for two years. I think Pearl made it. He died of a heart attack at age 38. Salude, Jeff.

Whatever happened to David Keith? Brubaker, Firestarter, and Lords of Discipline were all good movies, and Keith made you believe the characters he played in them. He fell off of my radar after "Lords" and I didn't notice him again until U571. He had a small supporting part in it, but he proved to me again what a good actor he is.
Maybe he pissed the Hollywood players off and he was blackballed like Elliot Gould. Maybe I just missed him. Who knows. The guy is underrated in my opinion. He is surely a better actor than Thomas Haden Church and that guy is working again.

Brave Sir Georgie ran away. Bravely ran away, away! When Vietnam reared it's ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled. Yes, brave Sir George turned about and gallantly he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat. Bravest of the brave, Sir Georgie.
