 Insulation Against Insurrection

AG Fredo Gonzales resigns. Another threat to the crown, neutralized. The road to ruin for Bush/Cheney might have been paved with the impeachment of the AG.
Had he remained in office and been charged, what kind of information would surface implicating Bush/Cheney? Would that information be enough for the impotent Dems to FINALLY get serious about removing the criminal twins? We will never know.

Watch for a nomination equally political and equally loyal to the president. Will the Dems FINALLY begin to stand strong against a fearlessly corrupt administration and block any Bush loyalist nominated? They must, but I fear they won't. We cannot, as a democracy, afford the further politicization of the justice department. The AG should be an individual whose only concern is the rule of law and the prosecution of those who break it. Political affiliation should not be a job requiremnet. Unfortunately for the country, it has been Bushco's only condition for employment.

A name being thrown out for Fredo's replacement is Michael "My gut" Chertoff. I'm sure that guy would shake the status quo of the justice department to it's foundation. He did a great job during Katrina. Of course, he and Rove allowed it to be turned into a mini-Iraq as far as no bid contracts for republican cronies. The rebuilding of New Orleans is going just as well as the rebuilding of Iraq, not much is getting done and enormous amounts of money are being thrown down the deep pockets of corporations friendly to the administration. Yeah, he'd be far less political.

Of course, maybe the evil chimp will make a recess appointment. An administration with no ethical boundaries is capable of anything, as we have seen. Sure, there would be an uproar if Bush eschews the confirmation process to appoint another political animal, loyal only to his agenda. But wait! Look over here! The shiny keys of distraction have already started shaking. Fear is making it's way back to the top of Bush's domestic agenda. The threat level from Iran, Al Qaeda, Syria, (feel free to add your own, NOT SAUDI ARABIA OF COURSE) is becoming dire. Just watch Fox. Just ask Michael Chertoff's gut. I think it was Walter Solbcheck who said to The Dude in The Big Lebowski, "If you will it, it is no fairy tail." Great Movie.

Meanwhile, we will live under the yoke of war and corruption until 2009, when Bush leaves. Of course, that is assuming he does so without a fight, which he may not. Who knows, the 9/11 type attack, ostensibly by the Iranians, could take place any time in the interim and Bush could declare Martial Law. By 2009, soldiers in the streets and curfews may be an accepted part of life. Sheep can get used to anything. After all $2.70 a gallon for gas is considered a bargain.

If that happens, I fear the America we have known pre-W will be a rumour.

Will we defend ourselves against the hand of Tyranny? I am apprehensive about the willingness or ability of the majority of Americans to recognize it's firm grip until it's too late.

 God's Giant G.I.

THE LATE EDITION

I saw this and I had to share. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so disturbing.

What a hideous woman. The look of sadness on her children's faces. The look of defeat on her neutered husband. Borderline emotional abuse? Maybe. She obviously keeps her spirit as healthy as her body.

The children are so happy to see her, too. She doesn't even give them a hug. Truly sad. At least she doesn't take the godless, dirty money. She sticks to her guns in that respect.

OF COURSE, she took the money! She needed it to make her stomach smaller, god made it too big. It also says some money is allocated for her two oldest children to get a place of their own. Let's hope they eventually get the youngest out of there too.

I wonder if moses parted her teeth?

 Christianity And It's Elaborate Pagantry

Who loves ya baby?!

Welcome to Sunday Morning Atheism. A couple of vids today.

The first one is more of a thought provoker, the second has a simple uplifting message.

Interesting, Eh?

IT'S.......................................................

-----------

PS. I was in a gas station the other day picking up some canes. After I had told the clerk what brand, I was poked on the shoulder from behind. I turned around to a prayer card being thrust in my face. Behind the dogma docket was an older man who said, quite condescendingly, "Take this, it will help you with your cigarettes". I looked at the card, then back at him. In an assertive, polite tone I said, "no thanks". He ignored my refusal and continued, "I'm an ex-preacher and this will help you with your problems". The arrogance of this fuck! He sees someone buying canes, passes judgement, decides he must intervene, is turned down in a polite manner, and continues to try and force his view on me. All I was doing was buying smokes and minding my own business.

Remember, I had already turned him down once. Bullshit is hard to sell and he thought it prudent to take a second stab. I looked at him hard and said forcefully, "I don't buy it, leave me alone". He seemed embarassed, mumbled something and slithered out of the store.

It's hard to mind your business when others are constantly trying to mind it for you.

The Prevaricator of the United States

READING IS KNOWLEDGE, RIGHT?

The Chimp showing his prowess.

A most apt pictorial description of W. Chimpy Bush.

_________________

Our president claims he has an eclectic reading list. I know when I think about voracious readers I think of the Chimp. Anyway, when asked about his current reading choice, he invariably comes up with a title(no doubt a title given him by a staffer) and zero summarization or analysis. If pressed, he bobs and weaves.

If you were asked what books you've read, having only to name a title and not deliver any recap, what kind of list would you claim. Probably one that you percieve makes you seem more intelligent, deep thinking, and yes, eclectic. Do you think a man who would lie his country into a war would not lie about the books he's read? Of course he would. He knows it is all about perception. People think W is dull. Well what dull person reads Camus? What intellectual minor leaguer reads Shakespeare? Catapult the propaganda.

Normally, I would feel that claiming to read a book you haven't, just to make people think a certain way about you is tantamount to shaving strokes when you are playing golf by yourself. The only person really being cheated is you. However, whether lying about what book he's reading or why we went into and must now stay in Iraq, George W. Bush has cheated us all.

Oh yeah,

Reading "Under the Banner of Heaven", by John Krakauer....again,

Beetle, He's as Bad as Can and He Knows He's the Best.

I love the Howard Stern Show. I subscribed to Sirius radio just for his comedic brilliance. Artie is OK, but I miss Jackie and Billy.

You'll notice I changed my icon to my favorite Wack Packer, Beetlejuice. Here is a short video introduction for those who aren't familiar.

Here is Beetle's theme song...This is Beetle. The lyrics were written by Beet himself. Staind recorded the music, and Kevin Lofton did the animation. He knows what he knows.
