If the White House is not hiding something, why are they hiding everything? I'm paraphrasing a quote by Chuck Schumer. That statement in it's simplicity of logic describes this administration to a tee. A government by and for the people has to be transparent. I realize there are real national security issues that have to be "secret", but everything this white house does is in the shadows.
It all boils down to accountability. There has been none for Bush and his gang of criminals since 9/11. None from the press, none from Congress, and none from the American People. Now, at this point, they have become so used to obeying the laws they want and making new ones to suit their ideology, who knows where the law begins and the administration ends.
The republics have to remember one thing though, the almost tyrannical power this idiot of a president has applied to his office will also be availiable for a democrat. Then the right wing morons will scream, "No oversight", "the powers of the president have to be reigned in", "there has to be checks and balances", "the white house must comply with the subpoenas" etc. You know what? I will agree with them. I don't want anyone to have that much power, no matter what their party, but then again I tend to think for myself. Something the republics frown on.
However, it will probably never get that far. This administration will doctor up some bullshit potential calamity or start another war and then invoke Presidential Directive 51. It will be left up to the people to take their democracy back.
Will we? Why aren't we now?
PS. Fred Feilding, White house counsel, said today that the documents that the judiciaries in both houses have subpoenaed will not be turned over. Of course they won't. Disgusting.
Right. This sight will never see another video/tune post. Well, maybe never is a little strong, but I'm going to strive to keep this one angry and devisive. Ha. Tunes will be up on Acoupleknucklesdeep. Hope you stop.
I was at a family get together today so I won't be able to bring you the wit and wisdom that you have come to expect at the Fringe. HA! Kind of buzzed. I wish I was a little bit taller...
