Thank you so much for the help, Cracker.

My first video post...POP! On this happy occasion I will celebrate by playing a fairly sad song, about lost love. Also, two members of the band committed suicide. Great choice eh?

Please enjoy Badfinger...and a hippy Kenny Rogers.

Thanks again Cracker, you rock!

 Double Dose of Diatribe

The subpoenas in the case of the attorney firings are due Monday. Ya know, the things that are supposed to compel any US citizen to appear before Congress and tell the truth? New things to this administration and it's Regent U(I giggle every time I write Regent University, Haha) trained liars. Of course they are claiming executive privilege and will let it go to the courts. Hopefully true civic minds will prevail in the battle and transparency will win out. The white house council claimed the administration has done everything it could to appease the committee in this case. They have offered close door meetings and very generously threw in the caveats of: No Oath, No Transcripts. So basically, They want to lie to members of congress in private, with no record. Any information that would come out of these meetings would be susceptible to "My word against yours" type spin. We know how powerful the right wing Propaganda machine can be.

Their actions are proof yet again that laws are but minor inconveniences in the minds of the Bush administration, nay, republics in general. The right can spend four years and 50 million on an investigation that started with Whitewater and ended with a blow job. Yet, when for the very first time, oversight is attempted on an infinitely more dastardly administration, the Christo-Lemmings and chicken hawk war mongers scream "Witch Hunt!" Amazing.

If you happen to read this and find yourself muttering "Witch Hunt", here is my reply. I'm going to say this with as much respect as I can muster.

YOU ARE PATHETIC.
PLEASE DO NOT REPRODUCE.

PS. Genarlow Wilson has been back in the news as of late. Check my post "Georgia, you suck!" to get you started, and there is plenty of good information out there, should you be so inclined. I think Genarlow's story has even more potency in the wake of the Libby commutation. The state will not commute his sentence and of course, neither will bush. His sentence was far more of an injustice than Judith Miller's fuck-buddy, Scooter Libby.

PSS. A grown ass man who likes to be called Scooter?! It seems to me to be the name eqivalant of a multi-colored beanie with a propeller on top.

Pictures for everyone to enjoy, except the 25% who still believe.

By the way Scooter paid his fine today. Can't you just feel his pain?

Oh, and to the aforementioned twenty-five percent...

Independence Day? Finding it hard to Celebrate.

Bush asks for more patience and more courage in Iraq. Translation: More death, money, carnage, and lies.

I love my country, but I am not proud of what my country has become.
How did we let it get this far?

Where corporations mean more than individuals, where the middle class is destroyed, where we start pre-emptive wars, where the constitution is just a piece of paper, where dissent equals treason, where our reputation has been all but destroyed, where the insidious arm of religion has permeated our government, where the president has almost tyrannical power, where the justice dept. cares more about politics than law, where elections are stolen, where lobbyists make the laws, where there are Free Speech Zones, where Paris Hilton serves more time than Scooter Libby, where New Orleans is allowed to be destroyed, where war profiteering is sanctioned by the government, where habeus corpus is a thing of the past, where privacy is determined by your government, where the rights of gays and people of color are undermined, where 46 million don't have health insurance, where we don't take care of soldiers coming home from war, where the press is not independent, where the Geneva Convention is quaint, where we torture, where the citizens don't demand justice, where Money is power, where other countries own too much of our debt, where voting is surpressed, where the Military establishment is revered, where children go hungry, where education is only a priority during elections, where the voice of the people is silenced or ignored.

Not in America you say? Look around.
This Fourth of July when you roll out your flag, remember what those 50 stars and thirteen stripes represent. Then ask yourself if we still deserve it.

Fight!

 Alfred Hawthorn Hill's Theme

I loved Benny Hill when I was younger and my parents didn't necessarily approve. (The BBC allowed more sexual innuendo. I think I started catching the show when I was 10.) I have always loved British comedies. I think that is what started my love affair with PBS.(The only place they aired.) Boots Randolph the creator of "Yakety Sax" which was Benny Hill's theme song, died today. Thanks for the laughs and fond memories.

PS. Gotta love the name Boots.
